Former Argentine President, Nestor Kirchner (60), husband of current Argentine President Christina Fernandez De Kirchner has died of a heart attack in Argentina. According to CNN the former president died at approximately 0930hrs on Wednesday, 27 October 2010 in hospital at Calafate in the Patagonia region of Argentina.

Legislative Council is to meet formally on Friday 22 October to discuss a range of issues affecting the Island. This is expected to be a two-day meeting which will be aired live, via Radio St Helena.
