- Government House in the Falklands have announced that following extensive enquiries by the Provost Marshall of the Joint Service Police and Security Unit (JSPSU) at Mount Pleasant Complex, Sr Rogelio Curras Pastoriza has been charged with an offence in relation to the loss of drugs from the police cell at Stanley Police Station.

- Government House has reported that the 29 packets of cocaine seized by Falkland Islands authorities from the fishing vessel Ventura on 30 October 2008 that were secured as evidence in a double- locked police cell at Stanley Police Station pending the court hearing have been tampered with and 23 of the packets were missing.

- There were several matters arising from the two previous meetings of Executive Council. Firstly it was reported that insurance issues in relation to Fox Bay jetty had been resolved and that work could now commence on the outstanding repairs.

- Mr Speaker, thank you. This Bill amends the Falkland Landholdings Corporation Ordinance. It provides for two Members of the public to be appointed to the board by the Governor. This replaces the existing provision under which two members of the Farming community are to be elected from amongst their members and then be appointed to the Board by the Governor.

- At a legislative Council Meeting held on Friday, 14 November 2008 three new Members of Executive Council were elected.
- 15: TENTH OVERSEAS TERRITORIES CONSULTATIVE COUNCIL MEETING - All (Gen - Government) - 12.11.2008
 - Gillian Merron, Overseas Territories Minister, hosted the tenth meeting of the Overseas Territories Consultative Council (OTCC) on 28 and 29 October 2008 at the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform in London. Premiers, Chief Ministers, Councillors and other representatives from Britain's Overseas Territories attended. The Council is held annually in London and provides a forum for consultation with British Government Ministers.

- Councillor William Drabble has returned to St Helena after attending the tenth Overseas Territories Consultative Council in London. This is an annual meeting which has been taking place since 1999.

- The draft Income Tax Bill was released for public discussion on Monday 10th November 2008. The Bill draws on many of the comments made during public consultation carried out during July 2008 but focuses only on Income Tax.

- Crude prices declined today on the economy and rightful concern that demand will fall even further. Demand declines because people have either sought alternatives to hydrocarbons products or have been too poor to afford them.

- On-going economic concerns have helped crude prices to decline today. Supplies of hydrocarbons products remain roughly the same as it was last week but this could or could not be the only indicator reflecting demand. Other indicators include price and people’s ability to pay that price.

- Today Jesus Carballo Martinez, 26 and Rogelio Curras Pastoriza, 41 from Galicia, Spain have appeared before Senior Magistrate Claire Faulds for importation of 30.6 kg of cocaine on Thursday, 30 October 2008 Jesus Carballo Martinez pleaded guilty to the charge, while Rogelio Curras Pastoriza did not enter a plea but sought legal representation.

- The first meeting with the recently elected Island Council was held on Monday 27 October immediately after the Councillors were sworn in by His Excellency the Governor, Andrew Gurr, who was on Ascension to meet the new Councillors and to chair the first meeting of the new Council. The Governor welcomed the new Councillors and before getting down to the lengthy agenda awaiting them, said a few words about the role of a Council.

- The trustees of the Stanley Seamen’s Mission are pleased to announce that Maurice and Debra Lake have been appointed to succeed Howard and Betty Turner as Co-managers of the Lighthouse Seamen’s Centre at FIPASS.
- 38: Ocean 8 – Oil Recovery: - Falklands (Fisheries) - 01.11.2008
- The dive team on the M/V Tasnui have recovered some 28 tonnes of fuel from the Ocean 8. Operations have now ceased as all main tanks have been checked and either had fuel removed or found not to contain fuel.

- The new Chief Secretary, Andrew Wells, has arrived in Saint Helena and has taken up office at the Castle in Jamestown.
