- 4: Green Island: Seal Colony Threatened by Fire - Falklands (Environment) - 26.02.2004
- Three weeks after a devastating fire that swept across Green Island, Choiseul Sound, a team has visited the island to survey the damage. The island has been extremely badly burnt, with 95% affected, many small birds left without food or shelter and over 200 sea-lions still at grave risk of burning through contact with hot ashes and slow-burning peat.

- As a result of a meeting held yesterday in Buenos Aires, the Argentine Foreign Ministry have announced that that there has been a breakthrough in the air charter over-flights issue that has dogged the South/west Atlantic since last November.

- A short and dignified service of re-burial for an Argentine soldier known only by God took place at the Argentine Cemetery at Darwin yesterday.

 - In the space of three years, 44,000 breeding pairs of albatross and 69,000 breeding pairs of penguins have vanished from one of the worlds’ most important breeding sites.

- When the RMS returns to St Helena, she will have called at Walvis Bay in Namibia, with HE Governor Hollamby on board, looking at the opportunities coming from the new shipping schedule which is to be released in the next few days, including regular stops at this port.

- The Public Transport System is now in its third month of operation having been launched in November last year by the St Helena Government.

- The new wage subsidy programme for farmers has been in operation for about four months, having been launched by the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department in October of last year.

 - The Ministry of Defence can confirm that a Royal Navy Lynx helicopter from the ice patrol ship HMS Endurance crashed in Antarctica on 8 February.

- An Argentine Air Ambulance has been given permission on humanitarian grounds to evacuate a seriously ill Namibian crew member from a Spanish Trawler, the Rolma Dos.

- Three vessels have been sighted off the coast of Ascension Island that were engaged in illegal long-lining for tuna. Two of the radio call-signs have been identified and therefore the country responsible for the theft.
