This was a brief meeting with just 4 papers.

2: St Helena: APPOINTMENT OF ACTING SHERIFF - St Helena (Legal) - 05.09.2014
Harry Legg OBE JP has been appointed by Governor Capes as Acting Sheriff of St Helena (see attached photo), whilst the current Sheriff, Greta Pat Musk MBE JP, is away from the Island.

The Criminal Procedures and Evidence Bill 2014 had been gazetted and required a second reading. The Honourable Roger Edwards explained what the Bill was about.

Mr Deputy Speaker, Honourable Members, Because I am going to be absent for the Select Committees on the two Bills I would like the indulgence of the House to say a few words generally on both while I am in the Islands.

Cherie Clifford announced the legislation to be debated and the first was the Crimes Bill 2014 that had been gazetted and required a second reading.

MLAs Summers, Cheek and Rendell attended the meeting. The first paper of the day was the Financial Business Case for a New Port and the Director of Central Services (DCS) attended for this item.

12: Public Process for Falklands Crimes Bills - Falklands (Legal) - 20.08.2014
On the 15th August 2014, the next stage of development for the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Bill and the Crimes Bill began with the Bills being placed in the Gazette.

13: PUBLIC PROCESS FOR CRIMINAL PROCEDURE & EVIDENCE BILL AND THE CRIMES BILL - Falklands (Legal) - 15.08.2014
The next stage of development for the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Bill and the Crimes Bill began with the Bills being placed in the Gazette on the 15th August 2014.

15: St Helena: FORMAL LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL – MONDAY 11 August 2014 - St Helena (Legal) - 07.08.2014
Formal Legislative Council will sit on Monday 11 August at 10am in the Court House, Jamestown. This session is expected to last a day and will be broadcast live via SAMS Radio 1.
