The Infant/Junior School PTA and Argos Limited sponsored a “Queen’s Night Dance on Saturday, 02 June, featuring fancy dress as well as a 3 course meal from Malvina House Hotel.

The Infant/Junior School PTA and Argos Limited sponsored a “Queen’s Night Dance on Saturday, 02 June, featuring fancy dress as well as a 3 course meal from Malvina House Hotel. The venue featured dancing and judging costumes. Craig and Corin Paice and Tim and Anna Stenning organised a street party on Racecourse Road. H E the Governor Mr Haywood attended and there was an excellent BBQ as well as an especially made cake. Games included throwing rubber boots and catching chickens. Approximately 100 people attended.
H. E. the Governor Mr Haywood attended a beach happening when the Falklands’ Beacon honouring H M the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was lit. The event was organised by John Clifford and the Stanley Sea and Marine Cadets. Approximately 200 people attended. It featured food, drink and fun. The “beacon” was actually a huge bonfire made up of palates as well as anything that burned. Surf Bay was warm on the night despite an unusually high tide and plenty of snow.
In Camp there was a happening at Douglas Station with three queens and a huge party as well as a dance.
