FALKLANDS REMEMBER NICK TAYLOR

By J. Brock (FINN)

A memorial service to remember Nick Taylor RN, who tragically died when he was shot down at Goose Green in May 1982, took place on Sunday, 06 May 2012.  Thirty years after his death the remembrance service, as usual, was well attended by people from Stanley, East and West Falkland and Mount Pleasant Complex.

Prayers were said by the Rev Dr Richard Hines from Christ Church Cathedral and Fr Peter Norris SFO from St Mary’s Catholic Church.  Eric Goss and a representative from the Royal Navy also participated in the service.  Wreaths were laid by the Acting Governor Mr Ric Nye, Tony and   Timothy Taylor, Nick Taylor’s brother and nephew and members of the Goose Green community who were incarcerated in the Hall for 28 days during the conflict.

After the ceremony there were refreshments in the Hall.
