If all you need is a room somewhere safe from the wind and the cold night air, then why not share it with at least 150 others and make it the town hall?

If all you need is a room somewhere safe from the wind and the cold night air, then why not share it with at least 150 others and make it the town hall? Fagin’s den of child thieves might tempt you to enjoy the musings of ‘Ladies who Drink’ or ponder over the duet so excellently executed by Becky Hill and Edmonde Openshaw-Gill from “Chess.”
But seriously, the evening was a resounding success, with an outstanding mix of Rogers, Hammerstein and Hart Andrew Lloyd Weber, Lionel Bart, ABBA, Brock, Harnick, Schwartz, Heneker and Murphy, Falchuck and Brennan.
Clearly the participants had an excellent time in portraying characters in the musicals and that enjoyment was infectious, giving happiness and pleasure to the audience.
Musicals featured included Oliver, Chess, Guys and Dolls, Mamma Mia, Phantom of the Opera, South Pacific, Wicked, Paint your Wagon, My Fair Lady, Glee, Oklahoma and half a Six Pence.
Those providing such infectious entertainment were Keith Biles, Daniel Clarke, Jessica Whally-King, Paula Fowmes, Steve Gill, Hattie Amey-McNab, Tessa Davies-Berntsen, Meredith Ellis, Tevra Fiddes, Connie Fowmes, Georgina Igao, Sophei Pompert Robertson, Africa Shepherd, Daphane Arthur-Almond, Jaqui Bailey, Kathy Biles, Alison Ingles, Jo Lazo, Becky Hill, Edmonde Openshaw-Gill, Dave Lewis, Ronnie MacLennan-Baird, Dick Sawle, Geoff Pring, Ben Walters, Scott Betts, Andrea Stanworth, Cat Catton, Dave Lewis, Beccy Hill, Alison Ingles, Hazel Fowmes, Hannah McPhee, Sorrel Pompert Robertson, Kate Stenning and Hilary Walters,
Aiding and abetting the cast was an excellent, professionally minded crew consisting of The Director, Paula Fowmes, Producer, Lidda Luxton and Stage Manager, Richard Fogerty. Myra Pitt and Richard Fogerty designed the set and Ms Pitt, Stacey Budd and Carl Evans managed back of the stage. Sound and lighting were organised by Jason Lewis and Adrian Almond. Theresa Lang and Ruth Taylor worked on the costumes and make-up was managed by Mandy and Abby Heathman. Graham France and Bernadette Pring handled Front of the House and the Sea Cadets sold refreshments. Tickets were sold at the Pod Gift Shop.
FINN’s readers have time to purchase tickets and have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious evening either on Friday or Saturday – or both. Doors open at 1900 with curtain up at 1930.
