On the afternoon of the 1st March the HMS Montrose called at Tristan on her way to the Falkland Islands. The weather was overcast and there was a swell running through the harbour and at the anchorage. The Administrator and Mrs Burns had organised a buffet lunch, for the crew of the Montrose, along with the Island Council and Heads of Government.

However, due to unforeseeable conditions the crew did not manage to get ashore and the vessel departed for the Falklands the same evening.  The vessel is hoping to visit all the British Overseas Territories in the South Atlantic Ocean during her course of this deployment, and will also be keeping an eye out for any IUU vessels in their EEZ.

The Community looks forward to her next visit, and fingers crossed she will have better luck.
