S.Atlantic : AWARD FOR CAPTAIN CLARENCE OCTOBER AND THE CREW OF THE EDINBURGH

I am delighted, as I know you all will be, with the announcement that Captain Clarence October and the crew of the Edinburgh have received an award for their work with the Oliva earlier this year.

AWARD FOR CAPTAIN CLARENCE OCTOBER AND THE CREW OF THE EDINBURGH

 

 

I am delighted, as I know you all will be, with the announcement that Captain Clarence October and the crew of the Edinburgh have received an award for their work with the Oliva earlier this year.

 

The South African Marine Safety Authority (SAMSA) has awarded Captain Clarence and the crew of the Edinburgh their 2011 Seafarer of the Year Award for all the work and help they gave the crew of the Oliva during the rescue itself as well as the work they did with Tristanians to transport the penguins from Nightingale and Inaccessible to Tristan.

 

I have written to Clarence on the community’s behalf to send our warm congratulations to himself and the crew of the Edinburgh
