Lindi Coetzee, Selina Goulbourne and Rosanna Mesquita, three Human Rights Trainers, have arrived in the Falklands and will conduct Human Rights training during the week of 19 to 25 July 2011.

On Tuesday, 19 July there will be an Introduction to Human rights lecture at the Chamber of Commerce from 0900 to 1200hrs in the function room at the Chamber of Commerce.  This venue is open to all in the Falkland Islands.  To many who got a lot from previous training this will be an excellent refresher.

Tuesday’s lecture considers the questions: Why should we be aware of human rights? What are human rights exactly and how do they differ from other rights? What rights do Falkland Islanders believe are important and how do they relate to the Falkland Islands Constitution? Can rights ever be limited? How are competing rights balanced? How do rights relate to responsibilities?
