Announcement from the Customs Duty Working Group

Following the tax reform package implemented in April, a Customs Duty Working Group has been looking at how to reduce the costs of duty changes on essential items for low income households.  Although most working Saints will have enjoyed a cut in income taxes, people with incomes below the tax threshold did not gain.  It is these low income households which the Working Group particularly wishes to help.  A package of adjustments to Customs Duties has now been prepared by the Working Group and will go to ExCo shortly for consideration.  More information will be provided to the public in due course.
