Thanks to the efforts of Debbie and Maurice Lake, previous Seamen’s Mission managers, the Stanley Seamen's Mission has recently been the recipient of a £17,400 grant from the International Transport Federation Seafarer's Trust.  This grant has allowed the Mission to purchase a new vehicle to be used for Mission business, including providing transportation for Seafarers.

According to an e-mail the previous managers initiated the grant application. Temporary managers, Betty and Luis Romo also want to thank the ITF Seafarer's Trust for enabling the Mission to have a reliable vehicle for its use.
