Falklands : BRITISH INTERNATIONAL LOSES RIG CONTRACT
Submitted by Falkland Islands News Network (Juanita Brock) 13.03.2011 (Article Archived on 27.03.2011)

AGR Petroleum Services has decided not to renew its contract with British International Helicopters for the provision of flights for the Ocean Guardian oil rig.

BRITISH INTERNATIONAL LOSES RIG CONTRACT

Press Release from an unknown source and read out by Stacey Bragger of FIRS on 09 March 2011

AGR Petroleum Services has decided not to renew its contract with British International Helicopters for the provision of flights for the Ocean Guardian oil rig.  It is believed that the new operator for the AGR Helicopter flights will be the Canadian Holding Company also known as CHC.  Base Manager for British International in the Falklands, Ian Ewen, says that the rig contract was always renewable and, whilst not unexpected, the decision has come sooner than anticipated.  He says that the loss of the contract will not affect any other British International’s other operations.  A spokesman for AGR said that they were unable to comment on the matter.
