An award of Police Commendations took place at Government House on Monday, 08 March 2011. H. E. the Governor Mr Nigel Haywood and his wife, Louise welcomed Police Officers and their family and friends to the ceremony as well as FITV, the new media outlet for the Falklands.
POLICE COMMENDATIONS AWARDED AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE

An award of Police Commendations took place at Government House on Monday, 08 March 2011. H. E. the Governor Mr Nigel Haywood and his wife, Louise welcomed Police Officers and their family and friends to the ceremony as well as FITV, the new media outlet for the Falklands.
In his opening remarks, Chief Police Officer, Gary Flinchett briefly went over the history of the Royal Falkland Islands Police. He also mentioned JSPSU, attending from MPA, as well as Police Officers’ families waiting at home for them.
Firstly, Len McGill was recognised for 25 years with the Royal Falkland Islands Police.

Members of the Royal Falkland Islands Police received commendations at Government House for their sterling work in solving three important cases over the past two years. A story and other photos will be published on Wednesday.
All staff as well as officers should be proud of their efforts. Here H. E. the Governor Mr Nigel Haywood presented commendations to Lisa Martin for her work on a serious sexual assault case, DS David Street and Ross Challoner, LPC Andrea Barlow, Mrs Priscilla McDade, LPC Trudy Felton, Detective Sgt Davis, Detective Constable Gary Webb, Police Constable Richard Moorehouse, Len McGill and Tom Whistler RLPC Jill Roberts and LPC Kim Bone. Kim Bone helped to transform the Prison Service.
In his final remarks Chief Police Officer Mr Gary Flinchett praised the force for the wide breadth of policing they do, given the size of the force and their remote location.
