His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Huckle will leave the Falkland Islands on Saturday 18th September 2010 at the end of the Governor’s tour of duty.
Falklands Say Farewell to His Excellency the Governor Mr Alan Huckle and Mrs Huckle
His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Huckle will leave the Falkland Islands on Saturday 18th September 2010 at the end of the Governor’s tour of duty.
The following arrangements have been put in place to say goodbye to them.
On Saturday morning (18 September) a parade will take place on Victory Green and Ross Road commencing at 09.20 hrs. At 09:30 hrs HE the Governor and Mrs Huckle will arrive and proceed to the dias. The farewell parade will include a Royal Salute, an inspection of the Guard of Honour, talking to the Youth Groups and Members of the Public, a 17 gun salute and the handing back of the Governor’s Sword to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. The Guard of Honour will be provided a tri-service detachment representing the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force, a Quarter Guard from the Falkland Island Defence Force, and Members of the Royal Falkland Islands Police, the Falkland Islands Fire and Rescue Service and the Customs and Immigration Department will also be represented. Representatives of Youth Groups will also be in attendance.
Members of the Public are cordially invited to attend the parade and are asked to be in position no later than 09.15 hrs.
