In October of last year, a new policy on Exemption of Import Duty, Wharfage and Freight Charges was agreed by the Governor in Council.

In October of last year, a new policy on Exemption of Import Duty, Wharfage and Freight Charges was agreed by the Governor in Council.
This policy gives a general guidance on certain goods which may or may not be exempted from Import Duty, Wharfage and Freight Charges in accordance with Part II (Exemptions from Customs duties) of the First Schedule of the Customs (Tariffs & Exemptions) Regulations, CAP 145. It also includes the criteria to be used by the Governor in Council when considering requests for such exemptions.
A copy of the policy has been placed in the Public Library in Jamestown for public viewing.
