Update on Cancer Support and Awareness Trust Activities
The recent inaugural Mammography Screening visit was very well received by everyone involved.
The procedures at the King Edward Memorial Hospital went very smoothly and at a recent “wash-up” meeting, Dr Roger Diggle complimented the Trust and the team from Clinica Alemana, Santiago for the minimal disruption to the day to day workings of the hospital.
The state of the art equipment, valued at approximately £160,000.00 arrived in pristine condition after a 3 part journey to the Falklands, thanks of course to all the careful handling en route.
The professionalism and care of the clinical team was exceptional and many clients have since contacted the Trust and commented as much.
Now that all the expenses of the visit are known, the Trust continues to support cancer sufferers and their families with telecommunication costs.
With this in mind the Trust would like to publicly thank Derek Pettersson for hosting the Annual Port Sussex Fishing competition and also the recent raffle held at the North Arm two-nighter, both of which were in aid of the Charity.
Finally the Trust would like to thank the whole of the Falklands community for their assistance in this endeavour.
