Martin Collins, Senior Executive and Director of Fisheries is to run the Stanley Marathon on Sunday the 14th of March. The Stanley Marathon is a particularly hard event due to the strong and often gale force winds that the runners have to battle through. Martin is asking this year that those who want to sponsor him do so through the Just Giving website:

All money will go to the international aid and poverty relief charity Oxfam to help them with their disaster relief work in Chile following the recent earthquake. Chile is a close and good neighbour to South Georgia and the Falklands. Chileans also work on the fishery patrol ships that do so much to help not just fish stocks but preserve albatross and other threatened seabirds.
