HAITI APPEAL FUND SET UP AT STANDARD CHARTERED BANK By J. Brock (FINN)
Mr Keith Biles has helped to set up an appeal fund at Standard Chartered Bank for Haiti earthquake relief. Last week that Caribbean Island was struck by a 7.0 earthquake that has killed well over 100,000 people especially in the area of Puerto Au Prince "An account has been opened today at Standard Chartered Bank, Stanley, to receive donations towards the relief effort being undertaken by various UK charities in the aftermath of the Haiti Earthquake.” said Mr Biles on Monday. The funds will be sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee, a co-ordinating body covering the work of the British Red Cross; Oxfam; Save the Children Fund; World Vision; Actionaid; CAFOD; Christian Aid; and TearFund, amongst other relief agencies.
