A presentation of FIOGA Certificates for the Falklands’ Golf Team took place at Government House at 1800hrs on Wednesday, 06 January 2010. Kevin Clapp, Steve Vincent and Rod Tuckwood  received the certificates from H.E. the Governor Mr Alan Huckle.  in his remarks the Governor mention how impressed he was at the games in Aland and that he thoroughly enjoyed the games.  After the presentation the new Chairman of FIOGA, Mr Mike Summers OBE.  Mr Summers praised the work of his predecessor, Mr Patrick Watts.

In a very passionate farewell speech the outgoing Chairman Mr Watts said he worked hard to enhance the profile of Falklands’ sport.  It was important to him to have the Falklands’ Flag processed along with those of other countries.  He has tried to enter a Falklands’ team in the Olympics because there would be recognition of the Falklands’ flag in an international forum that included Argentina.
