We Need the Telecommunications Service we are Paying For

An Editorial by J. Brock (FINN)

It is hoped that we the people have thwarted any further attempt to block SKIPE.    It is felt that the latest attempt to thwart communications has been the step too far by C&W and obviously the Falkland Islands Chamber of Commerce feels this as well as FIG.

Honourable Members will be holding a public meeting on Monday 16th March, Court & Council Chamber, Town Hall at 5pm.  This is will be an open meeting.  This would be an excellent time to discuss our communications problems with Councillors.

Businesses as well as individuals are paying C & W to communicate and thus far it seems that all they are doing is thwarting any attempt to realise the service that we are paying for.

To be a successful aid to business, Communications need to be seamless and complete, with no “prioritising” with DPI equipment.  One would think that this equipment was going to be used to block VOIP had C&W plans gone through.

We need the service we are paying for.
