Falklands : FALKLANDS WISH HMS CLYDE A HAPPY 1ST YEAR ON PATROL

The Falklands have helped to celebrate one year on patrol for HMS Clyde. Festivities began with a cocktail party for invited guests on Friday, 19 September, with an open day held on Saturday, 20 September.

FALKLANDS WISH HMS CLYDE A HAPPY 1ST YEAR ON PATROL

The Falklands have helped to celebrate one year on patrol for HMS Clyde.  Festivities began with a cocktail party for invited guests on Friday, 19 September, with an open day held on Saturday, 20 September.

 

The open day featured static displays of the ships equipment on the aft deck, with groups of people making their way to the bridge for demonstrations of other equipment and a good look around.

 

HMS Clyde is a River Class Offshore Patrol Vessel with a helicopter.  The vessel is assigned to the Falklands with the commander British Forces South Atlantic Islands with the Operational Control and the UK’s Commander Joint Operations the ship’s Operational head.

 

A mixed male and female crew of 38 call the Falklands their home port and to show support they are participating with the Falkland Islands Community School to host student on the job training and they help with the Sea and marine Cadet Unit.

 

The vessel also patrols around South Georgia.
