Property Advertised For Tourism Development

The St Helena Government has announced that the Wranghams property is now available for tourism related development. This is happening in accordance with the St Helena Tourism Policy and has been described as a great opportunity for a local investor.

The property is only available to local investors, but this does include St Helenians who are living overseas.

Wranghams is situated in Sandy Bay and prospective investors have until 31 March 2008 to submit their Expressions of Interest to the Legal Lands and Planning Department if they are keen to develop the property.

Lands Officer, Glynis Fowler explained that, in the first instance, applicants will need to submit their expressions of interest with an outline of how they intend to develop the property as a business entity. Prospective bidders must also show that they can, if necessary, access the necessary financial resources, have sufficient managerial experience, and have access to business support, if required.

The short listed bidders will then be invited to submit detailed business plans to the Legal, Lands and Planning Department, Following this, the successful bidder will need to collect application forms from the St Helena Development Agency for Approved Investment Status. Completed forms can be either submitted to the St Helena Development Agency or direct to Christina Stroud, Acting Investment Policy Coordinator in the St Helena Government.

Prospective applicants requiring further information should contact any member of the Crown Estate Management staff at the Legal Lands and Planning Department on telephone 2270 or email hod@legalandlands.gov.sh   or lands.officer@legalandlands.gov.sh
