Falklands : Falklands Quiz CEO Candidates
Submitted by Falkland Islands News Network (Juanita Brock) 25.08.2007 (Article Archived on 08.09.2007)

Candidates for the position of Falklands Chief Executive have visited and were quizzed by Councillors and others.

RECEPTION FOR CEO CANDIDATES

By J. Brock (FINN)

A reception at Government House was given for three short-listed candidates for Chief Executive as well as their wives.  One local candidate, Mr. Keith Padgett, is the Deputy Financial Secretary for FIG.  The other two short listed candidates are Richard J. Davies, presently Head of the Department of Public Services and Performance for the Welsh Assembly Government and Mr. Tim Thorogood presently a member of the Local Government Information Unit.  Mr. Thorogood was, until earlier this year, the CEO for Swansea.

The candidates will spend several days in presentations as well as interviews with Councillors as well as other government officials.  While this is Mr. Davies first visit to the Falklands, Mr Thorogood has been to the Islands five years ago as a short listed candidate for Chief Executive.  He grew up in the Falklands as his father was a Cable & Wireless employee.
