Press Release

A Legal Notice has been issued today stating that the Customs (Tariffs and Exemptions) Regulations, 2006 which were due to come into force with effect from 1st October 2006, have been revoked.

The Customs (Tariffs and Exemptions) Regulations 1999 will remain in force until further Regulations are made. The intention is to introduce the further regulations before the arrival of the RMS on 15 October. The postponement enables further comments that have been received from the public and from customs and excise staff to be given final consideration.
