Sergeant Dave Roberts of the Royal Falkland Islands Police updates us on the most recent Police activity.
At 1801hrs on Monday, 20 March 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report that the fire on Weddell Island had flared up again. The Fire and Rescue Service are dealing with this incident.
At 1835hrs on Monday, 20 March 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received notice that a medivac flight from the fishing fleet would land at the Football Pitch. KEMH staff dealt with the medivac.
At 2045hrs on Monday, 20 March 2006 a suspicious object was reported at the Murrell River. It was 35cm by 9cm, with brass fittings. EOD were tasked to deal with it.
At 0522hrs on Tuesday, 21 March 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report that an ambulance was required at the Upland Goose Hotel. Medical staff from the KEMH dealt with the incident.
At 1732hrs on Wednesday, 22 March 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of the theft of a bicycle from outside the Falkland Islands Community School. The bicycle was found and returned to the owner.
At 1801hrs on Wednesday, 22 March 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a vehicle driving through the temporary traffic lights set up on the Bypass Road. The Royal Falkland Islands Police would like to remind road users to obey traffic signals even though they are temporary.
At 0835hrs on Thursday, 23 March 2006 the EOD were tasked to dispose of ordinance that had been reported to them earlier in the week.
At 1928hrs on Thursday, 23 March 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a vehicle reversing the wrong way on Drury Street. Officers attended and one person was given a verbal warning.
At 0013hrs on Saturday, 25 March 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of drunken men riding push bikes on Callaghan Road. Officers attended but found nothing.
At 1906hrs on Sunday, 26 March 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police stopped a vehicle along the Stanley to Darwin Road that was dangerously overloaded and had unsecured cargo on it. The Royal Falkland Islands Police would like to remind all road users that overloaded vehicles with unsecured cargo is an offence under the Vehicle Weights Ordinance.
At 0024hrs on Monday, 27 March 2004 a vehicle accident was reported to the Royal Falkland Islands Police. One vehicle did not have an engaged hand brake and it rolled into another vehicle. Both parties are dealing with the incident through insurance.
At 1205hrs on Monday, 27 March 2006 the Royal Falkland Islands Police received a report of a 4-tonne truck parked dangerously on the pavement on Ross Road. The driver was located and given a verbal warning.
