NEW HEAD OF GOVERNORíS OFFICE ARRIVING SOON Sean Burns (pictured), the previous Administrator of Tristan da Cunha, has been appointed as the next Head of the Governorís Office and will arrive on Island on Thursday 6 February 2014. The role of Head of the Governorís Office now carries additional responsibilities, including the role of Acting Governor in the Governorís absence, a change that reflects the model on the Falkland Islands. Sean, like the Governor, is a member of Her Majestyís Diplomatic Service and his posting to St Helena is expected to be for about three years. He will be accompanied by his wife Marina. Seanís last posting was as the Administrator on Tristan. Commenting on his posting to St Helena, Sean said: ďI am delighted to have been appointed Head of the Governorís Office. Marina and I are both really looking forward to working and living on St Helena and getting to know the Islanders and the Island. Although we have never visited, I have learned something about St Helena from my time as the Administrator on Tristan since 2010, and about the exciting changes that are taking place.Ē One photo accompanies this release.
