QUEEN’S
BIRTHDAY PARTY 2013

This year the Queen’s Birthday Party (QBP) at Plantation House will
be held on Friday 19 April. Although HM The Queen’s actual birthday is on 21
April, in St Helena there will a public holiday to mark the occasion on Monday
17 June 2013.

The cost of the QBP in St Helena is met from funds provided to the
Governor’s Office by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London. Against the
current background of severe pressure on UK Government budgets and the
associated need to reduce costs wherever possible, the QBP in St Helena this
year will be held on a smaller scale than in previous years. It follows that
this year the number of guests invited to the QBP will be reduced.  Invitations will issue shortly.
