NEWS FROM ST HELENA TOURISM

KING AND QUEEN’S POSTBOX WALK

“LAST CHANCE” WALK ON SATURDAY, 4 AUGUST

As the airport project is progressing, major construction works are about to start on Prosperous Bay Plain to create the flat platform for the airport itself. This will mean that access to Prosperous Bay Plain will be restricted from Monday, 6 August, until further notice.

This means that, along the Gill Point walk, the post box walk to King and Queen’s Rocks will be closed from that date until further notice, although it is planned that alternative arrangements will be put in place in due course, if possible.

St Helena Tourism is arranging a “last chance walk” to King and Queen’s Rocks on Saturday, 4 August, meeting at Bradley’s and departing from Bradley’s at 10.00am. The route will follow the post box walk to the Signal House and back again, with a short halt at the Signal House. If you are interested in joining this walk, and seeing the area before the changes that will be taking place, please contact the Tourist Office on 2158. Numbers will be limited, and you are therefore urged to reserve your place as soon as possible.

All participants should ensure they are suitably equipped for the walk, and they undertake the walk at their own risk.

To book your place, or for more information, please contact the Tourist Office on 2158.
