Falklands : GOVERNMENT HOUSE HOSTS APPRENTICE CERTIFICATE AND DIPLOMA PRESENTATION

GOVERNMENT HOUSE HOSTS APPRENTICE CERTIFICATE AND DIPLOMA PRESENTATION

Twenty six people received certificates and/or rewards at a reception held at Government House on Thursday, 26 July 2012.  In his words of welcome H. E. the Governor Mr Nigel Haywood said it was a pleasure to present the awards, diplomas and certificates and congratulated all for their hard work and determination in seeking qualifications for their field of work.  He welcomed Mr John Aiken, from the Orion Business School in Cambridge who is verifying the award of the Chartered Management Institute’s Level 3 Diploma in First-Line Management.  Ten people began the course in October 2011 and they have nearly completed the course.  He then mentioned Bob Clarke from South-West Insular Training Ltd who came to the Falklands in November to run a two-week course in Off-Tech Boiler Maintenance and as a result the Training Centre has become accredited to run the award.  Two people received this award on the day and 11 completed the course.  Cat Catton taught a European Commission Computer Driving licence Course and 25 people completed the course.  Andy Murray (not the Tennis Star) came in November 2011; and teaching a powerboat course attended by 25 people and many received certificates on Thursday night.

 

Eileen Davis of the Training Centre thanked H. E. the Governor Mr Nigel Haywood for hosting the reception and congratulated those receiving awards.

7.     Carole-Ann Goss, Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration

10.  Sean Minto, Level 1 IVQ Certificate in Electrical Installation and Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

Marcus Morrison thanked the Employers who gave up time and talent to help apprentices achieve their awards.
