Legislative Council will meet this coming Friday, 6th July, at 10am in the Court House, Jamestown. The meeting is expected to be a one day session and will be broadcast live via Radio St Helena.
FORMAL LEGCO THIS FRIDAY
Legislative Council will meet this coming Friday, 6th July, at 10am in the Court House, Jamestown. The meeting is expected to be a one day session and will be broadcast live via Radio St Helena.
The purpose of the meeting will be to present two Bills for Ordinances, these being the Criminal Justice (Sentencing) Bill and the SHDA (Amendment) Bill.
In addition, four Sessional Papers will be presented and four Motions will be moved, including the two relating to the Bills. The Order Paper also includes a total of 13 oral questions.
This will be the first formal Legislative Council Meeting for newly elected Member Earl Henry. Councillor Henry will be in attendance along with the rest of Council, except Councillor Tara Thomas who is on overseas leave.
Acting Chief Secretary, Gillian Francis, Financial Secretary, Paul Blessington and Attorney General, Ken Baddon will also be present.
The meeting will conclude with the customary Adjournment Debate when Councillors will have the opportunity to raise various issues relating to St Helena.
The last formal meeting of Legislative Council took place on 22nd, 23rd, 26th and 27th March 2012.
