Ten long-liners were fishing for tooth-fish at the beginning of the month. The tooth-fish season closed at midnight on August 31st.

Ten long-liners were fishing for tooth-fish at the beginning of the month. The tooth-fish season closed at midnight on August 31st. The majority of the long-liners had completed their Total Allowable Catch and sailed to Stanley, Falkland Islands, for catch verification before season end.


Krill trawler "Juvel" arrived for inspection and licensing on August 7th, then sailed to search for krill in the vicinity of the South Sandwich Islands. Another trawler returned to the South Georgia Fishing Zone, but neither we successful.
