Ten long-liners were fishing for tooth-fish at the beginning of the month. The tooth-fish season closed at midnight on August 31st.

Ten long-liners were fishing for tooth-fish at the beginning of the month. The tooth-fish season closed at midnight on August 31st. The majority of the long-liners had completed their Total Allowable Catch and sailed to Stanley, Falkland Islands, for catch verification before season end.

Krill trawler "Juvel" arrived for inspection and licensing on August 7^th, then sailed to search for krill in the vicinity of the South Sandwich Islands. Another trawler returned to the South Georgia Fishing Zone, but neither we successful.
