Cllr Birmingham and the Director of fisheries have updated the media on the state of play regarding the sunken Korean Fishing Vessel.

OCEAN 8 UPDATE

Cllr John Birmingham and the Director of Fisheries, Dr. John Barton updated members of the Media on the state of play regarding the sunken Korean fishing vessel, Ocean 8.  The Media were told that all of the leaks in the fuel tanks had been plugged.  There were eleven fuel tanks aboard Ocean 8 and five of them  whad previously been leaking.

Insurers have visited the site and officials await their report.  A decision to pump fuel from the sunken Ocean 8 has not been made yet.
