There isn't a price you can put on free speech. If you were running Coca-Cola and the Army came and asked you to include Arsenic in the next batch of Coke, what would you do? It's no different with publishing, we won't poison our readers for anybody. We made sure everyone knew we weren't coming out and why we weren't coming out.
Our readers know that if we don't print things are moving to Ground Zero for Fiji.
Size of the market should not come into these decisions.
We knew they would come, we know things will get worse. We survived the first round. All they did was retreat to fight another day. We have not missed an edition yet, but maybe soon Fiji Times Online will be all we have.
P.S. We had to say no to the Army a second time on Thursday night when they wanted to place an ad for people to apply to run the "interim" government.
