Quark Fishing Limited and Freiremar SA are appealing against convictions and fines imposed on them for licence violations that occurred in South Georgia waters in 2004.
QUARK AND FREIREMAR APPEAL FISHING CONVICTIONS

Quark Fishing Limited and Freiremar SA are appealing against the conviction and sentence imposed on them in Court on 14 and 16 September 2005. The case will be heard in the Supreme Court before the Honourable Chief Justice, James Wood beginning on Friday, 20 January 2006.
Quark Fishing Limited was convicted and sentenced for a breach of licence conditions, which limited total allowable catch to 300 tonnes contra to (section 5(12) of the Fisheries (Conservation and Management) Ordinance 2000 in respect of its chartered vessel, ISBA QUINTO. The offence occurred between 04 May 2004 and the 28th of June 2004.
Freiremar SA was convicted of and sentenced for a breach of licence conditions, which limited total allowable catch to 300 tonnes contra to (section 5(12) of the Fisheries (Conservation and Management) Ordinance 2000 in respect of it’s owned vessel, ISBA QUINTO. The offence occurred between 04 May 2004 and 28 June 2004.
