Br.Ant.Territory : Ship and Plane Spotting
Submitted by (Juanita Brock) 04.11.2005 (Article Archived on 18.11.2005)

Summer season flights and sailing in the Antarctic will begin as soon as the weather clears.

SHIP AND PLANE SPOTTING

By J. Brock (FINN)

Spotted in the skies this week were two Twin Otters and a Dash 7 Aircraft operated by British Antarctic Survey.  This is not the full complement of the BAS air fleet but it does signal that the summer Antarctic season is underway.  Spotted coming through the Narrows this week was the James Clark Ross, presumably at FIPASS.  Due to the poor weather conditions, it is not known when the aircraft or the JCR will move south.
