In surprisingly mild weather conditions, the annual 2010 Fishing Competition, organized in conjunction with The Fisherman's Association and Argos Atlantic Cold Stores took place at the wharf on Saturday 10th July. The competition started from midnight on Friday 9th July with 14 boats competing, 9 boats less than last year.
The afternoon encouraged an average turnout of spectators; guesses were many had been deterred by the unpredictable weather. This year catchments were very poor with only 970 kilos of fish being landed between the 14 boats. In 2009 1200 kilos of fish had been landed between 23 boats.
