St Helena : Panel Established to Report on the Stillbirth of Alex Malcolm Thomas
Submitted by Saint Helena Herald (Public Relations Information Office) 27.06.2010 (Article Archived on 11.07.2010)

In my press release of 17th June I indicated that I would be seeking a complete written account into the circumstances surrounding the stillbirth of Alex Malcolm Thomas.

Panel Established to Report on the Circumstances Surrounding the Stillbirth of Alex Malcolm Thomas

In my press release of 17th June I indicated that I would be seeking a complete written account into the circumstances surrounding the stillbirth of Alex Malcolm Thomas.

Having discussed the matter fully with Executive Councillors I have set up a small panel under the chairmanship of Miss Jenny Corker J.P. The purpose of that panel is defined in their Terms of Reference as being “To produce as accurately as possible a time-lined record of what actually happened during the treatment of Lisa.”

Other members of the panel are: Hon. Bernice Olsson, Mrs. Carol George and Mr. Graham Sim.

I have indicated to the panel that they must have access to all the relevant information and personnel and that although we would like their report as soon as possible, accuracy is more important than speed.

When I receive the report I will share it with Councillors and a further statement will be made.

Andrew Gurr

Governor
