St Helena : Air Access Update No. 10
Submitted by Saint Helena Herald (Juanita Brock) 21.01.2004 (Article Archived on 04.02.2004)

Atkins Management Consultants submitted their Evaluation Report to the St Helena Government and DFID on 17 December 2003.

Air Access Update No. 10

Atkins Management Consultants submitted their Evaluation Report to the St Helena Government and DFID on 17 December 2003.

This report presents an evaluation of the four responses received to the international invitation.

The report is being studied in detail by both the St Helena Government and DFID and discussed jointly via telephone conferences.

There are a number of issues which require further clarification before it is possible for the St Helena Government and DFID to make a decision on the way forward, and Atkins Management Consultants have been asked to respond to these in the form of a supplementary report.  It is hoped that this will be received later this month.

St Helena Government’s newly appointed Air Access Co-ordinator, Sharon Wainwright, is currently receiving familiarisation with the process in the UK.  This has involved working closely with the UK members of SHG’s Air Access Team (Kedell Worboys and Jack Peeters) as well as meeting the Atkins Management Team, and gaining a greater understanding of the issues relating to air access. Sharon will be  arriving in St Helena to take up her post early next month.
