Falklands : Falklands Interim Director of Health Appointed

The Chief Executive, Mr Tim Thorogood, has announced that Mr Derek Muhl has been appointed as Interim Director of Health.
INTERIM DIRECTOR OF HEALTH APPOINTED

The Chief Executive, Mr Tim Thorogood, has announced that Mr Derek Muhl has been appointed as Interim Director of Health.
Mr Muhl will be in the Islands for about two weeks in Mayfor a familiarisation visit and then commence duties fully later in June.
Said Mr Thorogood, “Derek is a very experienced and highly regarded senior Health Manager with a good track record in the Falkland Islands Health Service: this represents an excellent appointment.”
Amongst his key priorities will be getting to grips with Health spending and improvements to departmental administration and systems. Derek will continue in post until a new permanent appointment is made to the post of Director of Health and Education.
Derek was previously Director of Health for FIG from July 1998 to December 2000.
