Falklands : Hugh Marsden Wins Stanley Running Club Half Marathon

The Stanley Running Club Half Marathon was completed shortly after noon on Sunday, 23 February 2009. Hugh Marsden, first man, clocked a time of 1 hour, 19 minutes and 31 seconds.

The Stanley Running Club Half Marathon was completed shortly after noon on Sunday, 23 February 2009.  Hugh Marsden, first man, clocked a time of 1 hour, 19 minutes and 31 seconds.  Second man was Brett Sweetman in 1 hour, 26 minutes and 15 seconds and Marvin Atkinson came in third in 1 hour, 28 minutes and14 seconds.  First Woman from MPA finished in 1 hour and 43 seconds.  Second woman was Carol Peck in 1 hour, 52 minutes and 46 seconds.  The first walkers were Sally Owen and Rebecca Sinclair.  The lighthouse trophy was won by Rex Eagle in 1 hour, 28 minutes and 15 seconds.

 

At the prize-giving Club Chairman Mr Peter Biggs thanked all of the sponsors, marshals and others who made the event a success.
