A patient was admitted to the General Hospital on Friday, 13 February 2009 with possible Meningitis.
St Helena - Possible Meningitis Reported
A patient was admitted to the General Hospital on Friday, 13 February 2009 with possible Meningitis. All the necessary precautions were taken immediately and possible contacts were given prophylactic medication. Environmental Health has also initiated a survey to ensure that all contacts are identified.
Tests are still being carried out to confirm the diagnosis and no other incidences have been identified.
