Despite the disappointment of not having the breast cancer screening team in the Falklands this year, a familiarisation visit is being undertaken by a representative from the Clinica Alemana at the end of the month.

Despite the disappointment of not having the breast cancer screening team in the Falklands this year, a familiarisation visit is being undertaken by a representative from the Clinica Alemana at the end of the month.
Dr Eleonora Horvath, Head of Mammography at the Clinica Alemana, in Santiago will be visiting the Falklands between 21-28/2/09 as a prelude to her team visiting next year in February - March 2010 to carry out a breast screening programme.
A full programme has been arranged for Dr Horvath including visits to the community school and the Seamen’s Mission. A public meeting has also been arranged at the Chamber of Commerce. H. E. the Governor Mr Alan Huckle and Mrs Huckle will host a dinner for Dr Horvath while she is in the Falklands.
The local Cancer Support & Awareness Trust have arranged a public meeting at the Chamber of Commerce between 5-7pm on Friday 27th Feb 09 for an informal question & answer session with Dr Horvath about the process of having a mammogram, breast cancer and related issues, all are welcome to attend.
