Falklands : Falklands Familiarisation Visit by Chilean Doctor

Despite the disappointment of not having the breast cancer screening team in the Falklands this year, a familiarisation visit is being undertaken by a representative from the Clinica Alemana at the end of the month.

FAMILIARISATION VISIT BY CHILEAN DOCTOR

Despite the disappointment of not having the breast cancer screening team in the Falklands this year, a familiarisation visit is being undertaken by a representative from the Clinica Alemana at the end of the month.


Dr Eleonora Horvath, Head of Mammography at the Clinica Alemana, in Santiago will be visiting the Falklands between 21-28/2/09 as a prelude to her team visiting next year in February - March 2010 to carry out a breast screening programme.


 


A full programme has been arranged for Dr Horvath including visits to the community school and the Seamenís Mission.  A public meeting has also been arranged at the Chamber of Commerce.  H. E. the Governor Mr Alan Huckle and Mrs Huckle will host a dinner for Dr Horvath while she is in the Falklands.


 


The local Cancer Support & Awareness Trust have arranged a public meeting at the Chamber of Commerce between 5-7pm on Friday 27th Feb 09 for an informal question & answer session with Dr Horvath about the process of having a mammogram, breast cancer and related issues, all are welcome to attend.
