St Helena Covered by The Lady

St Helena was featured as a travel destination in the Lady Magazine in October of this year after freelance Journalist Beverley Byrne visited the Island from 6 to 9 June.

The article covers two A4 pages and includes four photographs of landscape, the Charabanc, the RMS St Helena and the garden at Longwood House.

Beverley has written about the entertainment that was provided on the RMS during her two-week cruise and she then moves on to a description of Ascension Island and St Helena.

On arrival at the Wharf she captured the atmosphere with family and friends greeting loved ones and mention is made of St Helena’s connection with Napoleon. While she was on the Island Beverley received a tour which was organised by the St Helena Tourist Office and this included visits to Napoleon’s House, exploring Jamestown and viewing the landscapes which she likened to the Scottish Highlands.

Also included in her article is a fact file which quotes prices for getting to the Island and useful contact details.

The Lady is produced in the United Kingdom and is published every week. The magazine includes a travel and leisure section.

Commenting on the coverage St Helena received, Director of Tourism Pamela Young said: "This type of publicity can only be good for St Helena."

A copy of the article is available for viewing at the Tourist Office.
