The Falklands Portal at: www.falklandislands.com, will close at the end of the month.
FALKLANDS’ PORTAL TO CLOSE AT END OF THE MONTH

The Falklands Portal – clean, green Falklands – will be closed at the end of the month after approximately 7 years of operation. A press release from FIDC says that most of the information contained on the portal is available on other websites.
Sites like that run by the tourist board at www.visitorfalklands.com, Falkland Islands Government website www.falklands.gov.fk or International Tours and Travel’s new website at www.falklandislands.travel contain the same information and according to the press release, the usefulness of the portal has been diminished. These sites are also updated more often.
The press release concludes that FIDC will retain ownership of www.falklandislands.com.
