Successful Aerogrammes for the Post Office
The Post Office has released a new set of aerogramme designs.
Postmistress Beverley Francis said that the Post Office was without aerogrammes for a while, since the last consignment took a while to become exhausted, so it was decided to take a short break.
New designs have now been printed with three options available for customers. These are titled “Historical Scenes”, “Plant and Bird Life” and “Jamestown”. They all depict stunning photographs of St Helena and are being sold in the Post Office.
Beverley is hoping that the aerogrammes will generate good revenue for the Island and expects the new ones to sell just as well as the previous consignment.
She added that while customers experienced some problems with the last consignment, the new areogrammes are easier to write on, since the gloss finish has been replaced with a matt effect. They are also easier to stick.
In addition to selling aerogrammess on the Island, they are also available on the Post Office website www.postoffice.gov.sh which allows international collectors to buy them online, thus increasing business for the Post Office.
