A declining US Dollar against the Euro is a major factor in today's crude price increase.
HYDROCARBONS DAILY RECORD WEDNESDAY, 12 MARCH 2008
By J. Brock (FINN)
At 1930hrs LMT on Wednesday, 12 March 2008 Light Sweet Crude was trading at $109.92 up $1.17 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent Crude was trading at $106.27 up $1.02 on London’s ICE Futures Market.
ANALYSIS:
The USD meeting a new low against the Euro caused an increase in crude prices today. This makes crude more expensive. Though it runs against supply and demand, it does not run against greed and fear, which are behind the escalating crude prices. Crude supplies increased by 1.6 million barrels but fear mongers won’t let up until they get every ounce of spare change out of us.
