Public Consultation - Financial Services Legislation

A public meeting will be held at Half Tree Hollow Community Centre on Thursday 10th January, starting at 7:30pm, to discuss the Governments proposals to introduce legislation to regulate financial services businesses.  A further meeting will be held in Jamestown on Monday 14th January also at 7.30pm.

The meetings will allow members of the public to find out what the proposed legislation is about, and to comment before the detailed drafting is completed.  You can find out "What does 'financial services' mean?"; "What is money laundering?"; "Why do we need these laws?", and much more.

Both meetings will be chaired by the Attorney General, (Ken Baddon), and the Banking Supervisor (Mr Alan Savery) will be present to answer questions about the proposals.
