WOOL REPORT: for the week ending Friday 8th November 2002



Auctions



In Australia, the Eastern Market Indicator rose 14 cents on Tuesday, put on another 18 cents on Wednesday but closed the week by going back six cents on Thursday. The EMI thus closed the week up 26 cents moving from 1,145 cents to 1,1171 cents. "Some interest from overseas buyers waned as the Australian dollar strengthened against the major wool trading currencies." WRWMR



In South Africa the Cape Overall Merino Indicator added 1.8 percent from 4845 to 4932 SA cents/kg.



In New Zealand the Fine Indicator was quoted up 24 cents to 1544 NZ cents, the Medium Indicator was up 12 at 832 NZ cents and the Strong Indicator added two cents taking it to 461 NZ cents. The lambs Indicator was not quoted.



Currencies



Towards the end of the week the Australian dollar was trading at A$2.79/£ whilst the New Zealand dollar at about NZ$3.16/£.
