S.Atlantic : Falklands Mature Students Honoured at Government House

Twenty-four mature students have received diplomas and certificates for their efforts at Government House.

FALKLANDS MATURE STUDENTS HONOURED AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE

 

 

 

The 24 Mature Students who received their diplomas and certificates at Government House on Thursday night

Twenty-four mature students in the Falkland Islands have been presented with their diplomas and certificates at a ceremony and reception held at Government House on Thursday, 12 October 2006.  H. E. the Governor Mr. Alan Huckle presented the certificates and Mrs. Eileen Davies announced their names and acted as MC for the evening.

 

A Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Studies with Economics from the Open University was presented to Mrs. Gina Smith.

 

Management Development Diplomas were presented to: Mrs. Alison Ingles, Mr. Dave Roberts and Mrs Helen Wallace.

 

A Certificate in Management Level 3 was awarded to Mrs. Liz Elliot.

 

Certificates for National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) were presented to: Mr. Marcus Morrison, Mrs. Jeannie McKay, Mrs Una Wallace, and Mrs Eileen Davies for Level 4 in Conducting Internal Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process (V1 – Verifier’s Award).

 

Carol Cant, Jock Elliot and Sarah Maskell-Bott received Level 3 Certificates for Assessing Candidates Using a Range of Methods (A1 Assessor’s Award).

 

Mrs. Alison Ward received a Level 3 Customer Services Certificate and Miss Ivy Williams was presented a Level 3 Certificate in Administration.

 

Ms Priscilla Halliday (absent), Ms Georgina McKay and Ms Caroline McLearn received Level 2 Certificates in Customer Service.

 

A Level 2 Certificate in Care was presented to Mrs Loretta Webb and an IVQ Certificate in Timber Vocations was given to Mr Geoffrey Loftus.  Miss Sarah Rowland received an IVQ Certificate in Electrical Installations.

 

Mr Jock Sutherland received a Statement of Attainment in Planning, Conducting and Reviewing Assessments and Training Small Groups (This is part of the Australian Certificate IV in Workspace Training and Assessment.)

 

Mr Vladimir Sytchov was presented a certificate as a Microsoft Certified Professional and Mrs Lean Lang received a European Computed Driving Licence (ECDL)

 

Mr Dennis Harris was given a small award as a thank-you for hiring on apprentices.

 

Finally the Apprentice of the Year Award was presented to Mr Dominic Roberts.
